Tokyo, Japan - (March 17, 2016) - Akebono Brake Industry announced today that the company's achievement in the "development and mass production of high-performance brakes for road cars" had been awarded the FY2015 Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME) Medal for New Technology.

Farmington Hills, MI – (May 19, 2015) – Akebono Brake Corporation has recently become a Silver Partner sponsor of Kettering University’s Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) team for the 2015/2016 season. Akebono made a monetary contribution to the team in the amount of $2,500, with the intent of also donating brake components for next season’s car.
